Small Hours / Support
A little help
with Small Hours.
Information for the current pre-release app. Final requirements and availability will be confirmed before launch.
Choosing a look
Pick a look from the icon strip, then pull up the handle for its adjustments. Choose a control and move the slider. Presets give each look a starting point, and the information button explains the look and its gestures.
Shaping the focus
In Linear or Radial Tilt-Shift, drag the sharp area into place and twist with two fingers to turn it. Turn on Protect subject and tap your subject to keep it sharp; this needs a camera that can sense depth.
Framing and exposure
Choose the native frame, 3:2, 1:1, or 16:9, and optional thirds or center guides, which never appear in saved pictures. Tap to focus, tap the EV readout to adjust exposure, and tap Lock or hold the picture to lock focus and exposure.
Editing a photo you already have
Tap the photo button at the top, choose a picture, and apply any look. Saving makes a new copy in Photos and leaves the original unchanged. Very large photos are reduced to 24 megapixels.
Saving your own look
Open Presets, tap the bookmark, name the look, and tap Save look. Apply it again from Your looks, or swipe to delete it. Saved looks keep the look’s settings, while framing and exposure stay as you have them.
Recording video
In MiniDV or CCTV, choose Video and tap the red button to start and stop. VHS is under Tape format in MiniDV’s presets. If the microphone isn’t available, recording continues without sound.
Saving and sharing
Photos and videos are saved to Photos. Open the latest capture to review or share it. If saving fails, allow access to Photos in Settings and tap Retry Save.
Watermark, overlays, and location
A watermark is added to photos and videos by default. In the app’s settings, turn it off or change its text, font, size, and opacity. You can also turn the camcorder display and CCTV label on or off, and choose whether location is saved.
